"Leeching" (or whatever you want to call it), is essentially joining a battle right before it ends to get the rewards while not doing anything to earn them. These are especially common in boss battles, where turning the join mode to friends or private is not allowed.
A good way to remedy this would be to determine card and gear drop based on damage. That way, people who don't do much to help the battle also don't get as much rewards.
Sample value: each mob has a 5% chance to drop a card/gear, and each point of damage on that mob will increase it's chance by .5%. Card/gear boosts activate after the values have been calculated (so it will increase the final percentage by its respective boost).
It will also make corrupt farming easier (so less searching), and promote solo over multi-player battles.

Once you get a certain amount of special attacks, they are all categorized in 3 categories:
Offensive, Defensive, and Special.
Offensive is basically your Black Magic spells, like Fire Claw, Fiery Explosion, Spore Spray, etc.
Defensive is your list of healing and buff, as well as summoning, spells, such as Healing Spray and Fury.
Special, however, is a made up category that lets you use the spells that certain monsters use that cannot be learned from cards, you actually have to be hit by one for a chance to be able to learn the magic. (Similar to Blue Magic from the Final Fantasy series.) It has a 1/10 chance to be able to learn the attack that the enemy used at you. An example of a (hopefully at some point) up-coming attack is Dimensional Tear (From the antagonist of the game's 2nd encounter.)
Edit: There might be some special accessories that boost the chance of letting you obtain a Special Magic Attack, such as the Philosopher's Book, a relic that increases the chance of learning the attack to 1/5, and can be stacked with other Philosopher gear.
Lore books are items that you will find that are related to the story. They can be found throughout the world.
Woodlands Lore Book:
"The druids were corrupted by an unknown power, and they created golems and tanglers. The leader of the golems, Bedrock, had a plan to destroy the world. The power passed down the plan to The Bandit King, and he prevented people from entering Frogville Road."
Deserts Lore Book:
"Ratzo Rocks is a Port Town where Ratzos live. They have no laws and they are allowed to do as they please, while captain Silver watches over it and keeps it safe. The Sandlord who is a follower of the power and a wizard with sand magic, plans to destroy Ratzo Rocks and the rest of the Deserts. He has created a beast made out of sand to assist him and take over the Deserts while he destroys ratzo rocks with his sand magic and his army."
So basically, we were doing dungeons, and then suddenly, all the quests were reset. now this wouldn't be a problem if you could have multiple story quests, however ratzo rocks is a story quest that won't go away and that stops him from going past the guards. luckily he has the doors but this is annoying, any help?
On certain days where the day of the month is 7, or the month is July, all gear and card drops from enemies are doubled/tripled, depending on what month it is. On 7/7/YYYY, all card/gear drops are increased to 100% for the day.

This gem is acquired when lvl 15. It gives you 1 SP to start the battle with.
You can upgrade the gem by combining a sliver wraith, snowman, bedrock and bandit king card. Then it will give 2 SP per turn instead of one.
I came up with this idea because SP can be a bit teadious sometimes.
(maybe the gem can lower SP prices)
This is a lvl dungeon

This skill can be obtained with 1/5000 odds in a move learning center in the Deserts chapter. (That chapter has Ratzo Rocks In it) When you unlock it, it's effects are:
Water Beam: Can Be a different color
Does 5 damage, but 4X damage to Rock or or machine or alien type enemies.
Here are some reactions to the attack:
Starchild: (Very Loud Scream Noises) Translation: OW IT BURNS SO BAD!
Moonchild: (Scream Noises) Translation: This is extremely painful!
It also gives those enemies a Soak effect, which does 10 damage each turn.
