Enemy

An enormous monster created by the Druids to fill an unknown agenda. It's completely made out of stone and iron ore, giving it a ton of natural defense.

Overview[]

Bedrock is the first major boss in the game. It is found in the second part in Druid Grove which can only be opened by using the Grove Key.

Bedrock is a supersized Golem with grass protrusions instead of spikes. Horns protrude out the head, with more horns appearing as CorruptionCorruption level increases.

Under normal circumstances, it is accompanied by Druid Grove enemies (Tanglers, Druids, and Golems) with the quantity depending on the leader's level.

Players will be granted a MagicalStoneMagical Stone when they defeat Bedrock for the first time.

Skills[]

  • Shockwave (Boss Cheat) - Activates whenever an item is used. Deals POW3 Damage to all players. Undodgeable and unblockable. This can do no damage if you used Ice Armor and damage does not increase with corruption level. "NO USE ITEM!" displays at the bottom in pastel red after the shockwave.
    • CorruptionCorruption 2+ Druids can also trigger Shockwave when they use an item.
    • Bedrock won't use Shockwave if he is SleepAsleep.
    • Shockwave is unaffected by CorruptionCorruption.
  • Fury (SP2) - Deals POW3 Damage to self and gains PoweredUpPower Up-3 for two turns.
  • Brutalize (SP4) - Deals POW9 Damage to a single target. Inflicts BrokenBonesBroken Bones-3 , Piercing 1 Defense and StunStun for two turns. Undodgeable.
    • (Corruption1) - Damage increased to POW11.
    • (Corruption2) - Damage increased to POW13.
    • (Corruption3) - Damage increased to POW15.
  • Rock Storm (SP2) - Deals POW6 Damage to all players in join order, and inflicts WeakenedWeakness-1 for three turns. Dodgeable.
    • (Corruption1) - Damage increased to POW8.
    • (Corruption2) - Damage increased to POW10.
    • (Corruption3) - Damage increased to POW12.
  • Earthquake (SP1) - At the start of each player's turn, deal POW1 Damage to all allies and enemies. Undodgeable.
    • Having at least DEF1 Defense will completely negate the effects of Earthquake.
  • Nap Time (SP0) - Inflict self with SleepSleep for one turn. Shockwave is inactive during Sleep's duration.
    • Sleep restores HP5 Hitpoints when it expires.

Strategy[]

Bedrock has a notable weakness, and it's that he cannot do any offensive skills (save for Earthquake and Shockwave), when he has less than 2 SPSP. Because of this, he will typically do Nap Time, meaning that when Bedrock is SleepAsleep, this time should be taken to use items or to chip down Bedrock's health, as he cannot use Shockwave. Bedrock's support troops should be taken out first for they will deal more damage and that Bedrock should be taken out faster than he can heal.

It is strongly recommended to avoid using Items when Bedrock is awake unless it is absolutely necessary, otherwise your party will take unavoidable damage.

Take caution when dodging Rock Storm, as it is the offensive skill he will usually use the most. Do not jump too early or too late. If you mistime your jump, you will be inflicted with WeakenedWeakness, not only taking more damage from subsequent attacks, but more damage over time suffered from Earthquake unless you have more DEFDefense.

Brutalize is very tricky to block although it does deal high POWDamage and can inflict 2 Status at a time. This also makes Bedrock the only Enemy that can inflict 2 Status at a time, that being BrokenBonesBroken Bones & StunStun.

Trivia[]

  • Bedrock is the 1st major boss in the game.
  • Bedrock is the 1st enemy in-game to have a Boss Cheat, a sequence that occurs when a specific action is performed. In Bedrock's case, it damages all players whenever an item is used.
  • Bedrock is currently the only enemy to have a Strange Style.
  • When Bedrock uses Fury, players are blown backwards off their feet. This usually goes unseen by players in the battle due to the camera pointing at Bedrock. The same is set with Corruption2+ The Bandit King with his Item Stomp, except the camera doesn't point at The Bandit King.
  • Bedrock, inhibiting both the title of being a boss and a being made of rock, means that Bedrock is immune to all known debuff statuses except for WeakenedWeakness and Disarmed Disarm.
  • Bedrock, along with Golem and The Bandit King are the only enemies to have Immunities.
  • Hilariously, Bedrock can destroy itself by using Fury with HP3 Hitpoints or less.
  • Bedrock would most likely use Brutalize if their SPSP is 5 or more.
  • If a CorruptionCorruption 2+ Bedrock uses Nap Time and then wakes up, Bedrock's head may turn non-corrupted. However, it's horns and aura remain CorruptionCorrupted.
  • Bedrock is the second enemy to have a dialogue, but it can only be seen when a player uses an Item, with the other being The Bandit King.
  • Bedrock, along with Golem, Fungeye and The Bandit King have the most POWPower as a Corruptionnon-corrupted enemy, being 4.
    • Bedrock also has the most DEF Defense as a non-corrupted enemy, being 4.
  • Despite Bedrock being able to drop a Golem Aura, he cannot drop the CorruptionCorrupted variant.
  • There is a glitch in where if the person who started the battle against Bedrock runs first turn, Bedrock will start cycling between Earthquake and Nap Time, with earthquake never taking effect.
