Overview
Burglars are an enemy encountered in the Hidden Woods alongside the Bandit. Burglars are in essence a stronger variation of the Bandit, with better raw stats.
Skills
- Punch - Does 4 Damage and can be faked out. Dodgeable.
- Shoplift - Deals no Damage; steals one random item. Dodgeable.
- (2+) Savage Hit - Deals 8 Damage and inflicts Stun for two turns. Dodgeable.
- (3) Barrage - Deals 18 Damage with 8 hits total, first hit dealing 10 Damage and the rest dealing 1 Damage. Partially Dodgeable.
Strategy
Fighting Burglars may prove difficult for newer players due to them being the first enemies introduced with Defense, leaving them with miscalculations in damage. In addition, their Shoplift skill is extremely difficult to avoid, almost always resulting in the loss of an Item, and they aren't afraid to use Cheeseburgers and BBQ Sauce to stay alive longer.
Burglars are always fought in groups of one or more alongside Bandits. The ideal skill would be to use Fiery Explosion to severely injure the Burglars and eliminate all Bandits. The Burn will leave Burglars at 1 Health and finished next turn. Alternatively, Barrage can eliminate a single Burglar at a time. With a partner, an additional skill can be used to finish off the Burglars in a single turn. A 'Critical!' Stunning Giant Crowbar is an excellent way to one-shot non-corrupted Burglars.
Alternatively, the threat of Shoplift can be lifted entirely with Ice Armor and the attack boost from it will allow Fiery Explosion to finish the Burglars on turn two.
Against Corruption 1 and 2 Burglars, they will have even higher Defense, making the Dull Rapier a better choice for its piercing after disposing of the accompanying enemies. Against Corruption 3 Burglars, they gain Barrage, which is a serious problem even if the first hit is dodged. Thanks to their high power and defense, players will need a diverse array of skills to take them out before the worst happens.
